Strip, made of felt or aluminium borosilicate
Felt strips, and their high-temperature variants made of aluminium borosilicate, provide a simple and effective sealing solution.
They accommodate relatively high shaft speeds, because a small gap forms between the felt strip and the shaft, transforming the seal into a non-contact, gap-type seal. Felt strips should be cut to the correct length and soaked in hot oil prior to being installed.
